Master the Best Interest Assessor Role
Our BIA qualification and BIA centred training courses will give delegates the ability to work lawfully within the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA), the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS, MCA 2005), and their respective codes of practice, and the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRH).
Our qualification led by a lawyer-trainer and a highly experienced BIA, offering a robust foundation in legal literacy as well as best practice in practical application.
Our legal update courses are designed to ensure BIAs have the most up-to-date knowledge, skills and competence to correctly interpret and apply legislation and guidance to best practice standards.
Attending our signatory course will give participants the practical skills and knowledge to effectively assess and manage DoLS applications, ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding the rights of individuals.

- Fast Qualification – We understand the importance of insuring the quickest possible turnaround time from attending the training to qualifying. Our average timeframe is 3-4 months, compared to most universities that take 9-12 months
- Outstanding Feedback – In the last 12 months, our BIA qualification has been rated 9.6 out 10 from attending students
- Purposely Designed – Our BIA module is not made up of other modules and has instead been specifically designed to give students the skills and knowledge to operate as a BIA to best practice standards
- Success Rate – Due to our unique deliver style and our ability to successfully instil skills and knowledge, our pass rate is around 75%
- Skills Based Training – We do not use lecture-based training or ‘death by PowerPoint’, and instead we place the student at the centre of the learning experience. Concentrating on group work, exercises, and scenario-based case studies to ensure each learner has successfully obtained the necessary skills and knowledge
- Intimate Group Sizes – We cap the sizes of each of our BIA intake to ensure that the course remains interactive to benefit the student. Unlike a typical lecture theatre full of students
- Expert Led Training – We use Subject Matter Expert Mental Capacity Act Lawyers and Qualified BIAs to deliver our qualification, as they are able to give practical guidance and assurances, rather than anecdotal stories. They are also trained-trainers, allowing them to impart the knowledge and skills effectively
- Lifelong Learning – We continually keep our students updated and informed of any changes, potential changes, or case law that you should be informed of.
