Are you aware of Social Work England’s new CPD requirements?
Are you prepared to renew your registration before the 30 November deadline?
The three-month period for practitioners to renew their registration with Social Work England has begun. Whilst social workers have until 30 November 2022 to do so, Community Care has recently reported that only just over 5 per cent of social workers (5,478) have met the new continuing professional development registration requirements.
More than twice as many – 12,385 (12.4%) – have submitted at least one piece of CPD. This would have been sufficient in 2020 and 2021 but the process has recently changed. Social workers must now record two pieces of CPD to secure their registration, with at least one including a peer reflection. Full details of the CPD requirements can be found on the Social Work England website.
Please also note that there is no longer a CPD grace period beyond the 30 November deadline, so the regulator is advising practitioners to submit well in advance of that date to guarantee registration.
Bond Solon has a range of CPD courses available to help you meet your ongoing professional development requirements, from Record Keeping and our popular Best Interest Assessor Qualification to NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Training and the Domestic Abuse Act. To view our full suite of in-house and public courses, please visit the course page.
Enrolling on our CPD courses will not only ensure that you remain compliant with Social Work England’s registration requirements but will also enable you to continue to operate and deliver your services in line with the most up to date best practices.
