The recordings of the 2025 Expert Witness Conference are now available online.

This year’s conference included the annual legal update and provided advice on improving working relationships between experts and lawyers, how to handle ethical issues with instructing solicitors and getting paid fairly and promptly for your work.  

You can access all the speakers’ talks from the day, including: 

• Mark McDonald, top barrister, who now represents Lucy Letby, will talk about how expert witnesses have been central to the whole case and what lessons can be learnt
• Megan Millar, Barrister at 6 Kings Bench Walk, who appeared in the team of barristers to the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry led by Jason Beer KC. She will address what lessons can be learned by expert witnesses from Horizon and other inquiries
• Mr Justice Waksman, the Judge in charge of the Technology and Construction Court, and someone who has been instrumental in the development of the Civil Procedure Rules, will look at best practice in civil courts and what the future holds
