
Course Outline:
This course is designed to assist delegates in understanding what is required when writing statements for the Court of Protection.
The course is presented in an inclusive and supportive environment, in a small group by an experienced professional with extensive experience in the court system.
Delegates are encouraged to participate and ask questions throughout the day.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the Powers of the Court and what evidence is required before the Court can decide the application before it
- Explain how Judges make decisions on law and facts
- Describe the Social Worker’s Duty to the Court in respect of evidence
- Identify different types of evidence and explain the weight the court gives to each type of evidence
- Compose notes and records to best practice standards
- Produce witness statements and reports to best practice standards
