Expert Witnesses play a fundamental role within the UK’s judicial system by providing opinion evidence to assist courts in reaching decisions. Expert Witnesses may be asked to write a report or statement and be called to give evidence in a wide variety of legal forums including: civil, criminal, and family courts, tribunals, arbitrations, inquiries and professional conduct hearings.
Why undertake Expert Witness training?
As well as having the relevant qualifications and experience in your professional field, it is now regarded as essential that experts undertake recognised Expert Witness Training. When instructing an Expert Witness, solicitors must adhere to Part 6 of the Experts Code of Guidance and ensure the expert has experience, expertise and “training appropriate to the value, complexity and importance of the case.”

- Produce court compliant reports and statements
