He or she is someone who gives an independent opinion on the facts of the case. They are entitled to give that opinion because of their qualifications and experience. They cannot express an opinion without having a foundation of fact.
Expert witnesses may be asked to write a report or called to give evidence in virtually every legal forum: civil, criminal and family courts, tribunals, arbitration and mediation.
The skills required to produce a well-written expert’s report and to perform competently in the witness box can be learned. Bond Solon is the leading training company providing this type of training.
In conjunction with Cardiff University Law School, Bond Solon runs a unique five-module training course for expert witnesses.
Bond Solon is working with many professional bodies to ensure that professionals from within their professions who hold themselves out as experts, have the necessary skills to perform this role. If your organisation would like to discuss this further, please contact Bond Solon on 020 7549 2549.
